In September, 2008, I photographed these selected images during a Civil War Encampment at Wildwood Preserve Metropark in Toledo, OH. History buffs and re-enactors from around the region took part in this weekend long event. Period costumes, weapons, and accoutrements made for some visually rewarding images. At the end of the weekend's activities, the "troops" staged a mock battle between Union and Confederate forces. While these images were all shot in color originally, I posted these monochrome versions. I feel they convey more of the atmosphere of the experience.
